In 2017, GEO purchased Eagle Pass Detention Facility and following facility renovations, GEO reactivated the facility in August 2018.
GEO provides housing, management, and supervision services at the Facility. The Facility provides residential care, medical services, food service, and rehabilitation programs in accordance with IDOC requirements.
Each housing area has access to recreation areas, library, barbershop, medical triage rooms, programming classrooms and case management offices.
The facility was designed in compliance with the Texas Commission on Jail Standards and American Correctional Association Standards.
The facility is scheduled to pursue American Correctional Association (ACA) accreditation.
