The Northwest ICE Processing Center is a minimum, medium and maximum security center that opened in 2004. Staff were recruited from the local community and local vendors are used as much as possible. As a result, the center contributes significantly to the local economy through salaries and purchase of goods and services.
The center achieved initial accreditation through the American Correctional Association (ACA) in 2006 and reaccreditation in 2009, 2012, 2015, and 2018 with a score of 100%. The facility was also accredited by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) in 2005 and was reaccredited in 2011.
