GEO Reentry Services Supports Parolees at the Summit of Hope

GEO Reentry Services proudly participated in the annual Summit of Hope event held at the Power of Change Church in Cahokia, Illinois. The event, hosted in collaboration with the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC), serves as a one-stop resource fair for individuals on parole, connecting them with vital services to help their reentry into the community.

More than 250 individuals attended this year’s Summit of Hope, where they were able to access essential resources including clothing, food, lodging, and identification. The event brought together numerous community organizations, vendors, and service providers, all dedicated to offering their support and encouragement for individuals transitioning back into society.

GEO Reentry was represented by 23 staff members who volunteered to assist as greeters, vendor representatives at the GEO Reentry and Suicide Awareness booths, and tour guides to help attendees navigate the event. Staff provided guidance, encouragement, and information about the services available through GEO Reentry’s programs, while ensuring participants felt welcomed and supported throughout the event.

"The Summit of Hope demonstrates the power of collaboration in helping individuals build a stable foundation after incarceration," said the Program Director of GEO Reentry Services at Southwestern Illinois Correctional Center (SWICC). "Our staff are honored to participate each year, walking alongside individuals on parole as they access the tools and resources needed for a successful transition back into the community."

GEO Reentry has proudly participated in the Summit of Hope for several years and remains committed to supporting community-based efforts that promote rehabilitation, reduce recidivism, and create safer, stronger communities.
