In May 2026, The GEO Group participated in a volunteer project at Sanders Park Elementary School in Pompano Beach, Florida. Sanders Park Elementary is an A-rated elementary school within Broward County but is located in a low-income neighborhood. The school had a central outdoor area that was in need of a facelift and that’s where employees from GEO stepped in.
This project first came to fruition when the school’s new principal, Kizzy Dailey, reached out to The GEO Group Foundation through one of its charitable partners, Community Based Connections. The GEO Group Foundation took on this task and also provided a $5,000 donation to the school to help purchase supplies that would be used for the project.
On a sunny South Florida Friday, employees from GEO’s Corporate Office, Broward Transitional Center, and Ft. Lauderdale ISAP Office, joined together to power wash, scrape, paint, plant, mulch, and revamp the school’s central outdoor patio. Split into two shifts, the entire GEO team was able to completely transform the space into a bright, clean area for students and teachers alike to enjoy.
We are thankful to Sanders Park Elementary and Community Based Connections for their partnership, as well to all the employees who sacrificed their time to volunteer. Their participation demonstrates GEO’s commitment to service in our community.
