The GEO Group Supports the South Florida Charity Classic Benefiting Veterans

The GEO Group has been supporting the South Florida Charity Classic for the last four years, by sponsoring and participating in its annual golf tournament benefiting veterans. This year, GEO stepped up its support in two major ways. First, The GEO Group Foundation provided a $10,000 donation to sponsor the golf tournament as well as a pre-event reception the evening before. Second, GEO hosted the pre-event reception at its corporate headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida.

Every year, the South Florida Charity Classic recognizes a Medal of Honor recipient. This year, Earl Plumlee, retired master sergeant in the United States Army, was recognized. Earl was presented the Medal of Honor by former President Joe Biden in 2021 for his actions in Afghanistan that took place on August 28, 2013 at the Forward Operating Base Ghazni. During the pre-event reception, Earl participated in an interview style conversation with Jim Duffy, Executive Director of the South Florida Charity Classic. Lead GEO Board Member, Jack Brewer, and Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Chris Ryan, also provided remarks during the reception, which was attended by approximately one hundred guests.

The following day several GEO employees participated in the golf tournament, including Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Chris Ryan, Executive Vice President of Risk Management, Phil Dugger, Director of Sourcing and Supply, Todd Nadrich, Director of Post-Release Services, Craig Spatara, and Director of Corporate Relations, Chris Ferreira.
