Building strength and Community: Cadets Make a Difference in Florence

Service, teamwork, and community pride were evident as cadets from the Central Arizona Correctional and Rehabilitation Facility (CACRF) in Florence, Arizona, extended their physical training efforts into meaningful community service.

While conducting routine physical training at Jason Lopez Park, the cadet class took the opportunity to give back by turning a workout session into a significant park clean-up effort. After completing their physical training exercises, the cadets grabbed trash bags and worked together to remove litter and debris from the park grounds, transforming a simple decision into a powerful demonstration of leadership, responsibility, and civic engagement. Their efforts helped restore the park’s welcoming environment for families, children, and residents who enjoy the space year-round, while also launching an initiative that will continue as ongoing charitable service for all incoming cadet classes at the CACRF.

Moving forward, cadets will bring trash bags to physical training sessions held at the park, ensuring that community service remains a consistent and meaningful part of their training experience. This reinforces the idea that service extends beyond the workplace and into everyday actions that positively impact the surrounding community.

Cadets who participated in the clean-up included Mckayla Loveland, Cameron Moore, Jasiel Casterena, Cesar Castellanos, Jordan Reeve, and Isaiah Bautista. Their teamwork and dedication exemplified the values of discipline, respect, and service that the cadet program strives to instill. By combining physical fitness with community involvement, the cadets demonstrated that leadership is best shown through action. Their continued commitment reflects CACRF's dedication to fostering positive community partnerships while developing future professionals who lead by example.
